When Was the Last Time You Realigned With Who You Truly Are?
01-11-2025 — 4 min read
Greetings,
I hope you are doing okay.
The gist of this article is to provide a questionnaire for any individual looking to re-align or reset, with purpose and understanding. I have already utilized similar frameworks previously, and while, in one way, they all ended up as failures, in another way, I learned more about myself and always gained something.
A road does not travel straight to the end of time; turns will exist, and each will require aligning, and that is alright.
Mostly, the re-alignment plan helps me have a conversation with myself, to look at my perception twice, to outline my hopes and dreams, to figure out my goals and efforts, and to pick myself up and begin again.
The purpose of the re-alignment plan is to bring clarity to your existence and growth, to refine and remove your shortcomings and setbacks, and to build systems that hold everything together.
Re-alignment takes time, and so do conversations with yourself. Take your time to understand the questions, and fill them with purpose, not as tasks for completion.
VISION OF YOUR IDEAL SELF
Define who you want to become and what success looks like on your terms.
- Who do I want to become?
- What does success look like for my new identity?
- How do I want others to perceive me?
- What role do I want to play in the world?
- Identity Score (1–10)
SELF-DISCOVERY & AWARENESS
Get clear on what drives, drains, and defines you.
- What gives me energy?
- What are my top 3 strengths?
- What are my biggest weaknesses or constraints?
- What are my 3–5 core values?
- What kind of people and environments help me thrive?
- What makes me genuinely happy, and am I pursuing it?
- Self-Awareness Score (1–10)
BREAKING BARRIERS & LETTING GO
Release what no longer fits the person you’re becoming.
- What limiting beliefs hold me back?
- What fears are keeping me stuck?
- What parts of my old identity should I release?
- What distractions or time-wasters block my progress?
- How can I reframe past struggles as lessons or strengths?
- Letting Go Score (1–10)
BUILDING THE NEW IDENTITY
Turn vision into reality through habits, environment, and systems.
- What skills or knowledge do I need to learn?
- What daily habits can reinforce my new identity?
- How do I stay motivated when things get hard?
- What environment and relationships support my evolution?
- What am I willing to sacrifice to become this version of me?
- Identity-Building Score (1–10)
CLARITY & DIRECTION
Turn reflection into a roadmap.
- What do I not want in life?
- What do I truly want in life?
Time-Based Goals
- 10-Year Vision
- 1-Year Milestones
- 3-Month Focus
Skill & Growth Alignment
- What skills do I need next?
- What obstacles could derail me?
- Direction Score (1–10)
SELF-REFLECTION & PROGRESS TRACKING
Measure evolution, not perfection.
- What went well last week?
- What didn’t go well, and why?
- What am I grateful for?
- What are my focus goals this week?
- What are my active projects?
- How far have I come in this journey?
- What’s the gap between how I see myself and how others see me?
- How will I measure progress?
Guideline & Conclusion
Thank you, and thank yourself for going through all the questions. Even if you just read them, to get here.
As a guideline, most of the questions are for occasional reflection until you feel the need to change. However, near the end, “the Self-Reflection” section requires audits and changes on a schedule that fits you. Weekly, monthly, 10-day, 15-day, whatever works best for you, as it is for yourself and by yourself.
Once again, take your time. You can either choose to copy and paste this into the format that you prefer, or you can use the Notion template I’ve created, linked here. I am also working on an interactive document database that will be available later (I’ll add it to the comments once I’m done over-engineering it).
As always, do it with purpose, and do it with intention.
Thank you again.
Regards,
